Wayman Education is seeking a creative, inspiring, and dynamic Drama Teacher to join an exceptional performing arts faculty at an 'Outstanding' Ofsted-rated secondary school in St Albans. This full-time, permanent position is scheduled to start in September 2026 and is open to both experienced practitioners looking for a new challenge and ambitious Early Career Teachers (ECTs).

Key Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and deliver high-quality, engaging drama lessons across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with potential opportunities to teach Key Stage 5 / A-Level or vocational performing arts tracks).
- Introduce students to a diverse range of theatrical styles, global practitioners, dramatic texts, and staging techniques.
- Assess, track, and report on the practical performance and written progress of pupils in line with GCSE exam board specifications and school assessment guidelines.
- Maintain a safe, highly collaborative, and structured classroom or studio space that encourages students to take creative risks.
- Enrich the wider school culture by directing, supporting, or contributing to extra-curricular drama clubs, school productions, and live theater excursions.
Requirements
- Qualifications: Must hold QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or QTLS, alongside a degree in Drama, Theatre Studies, Performing Arts, or a closely related discipline.
- Experience: A proven track record of teaching drama within a UK secondary school setting (including successful ITT/PGCE placements).
- Skills: Exceptional subject knowledge, confident behavior management techniques, and an ability to inspire young performers of all backgrounds and abilities.
- A strong commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
