Role Overview Fleetwood Town Football Club is offering an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual to join the Academy as an Academy Analysis & Operations Intern. This role has been funded by the PFA and EFL's Off-Pitch Pathway Scheme (OPPS), an initiative helping former players and scholars move into meaningful long-term careers away from the pitch. Administered by League Football Education, the OPPS programme is funding nine 12-month placements across EFL clubs which offer PFA members workplace experience across a range of professional departments within football clubs.
The internship will be split across each department (Analysis and Operations) for a six-month period.
You will be part of a forward-thinking Academy with a strong track record of developing players who progress through the football pyramid and regularly feature in the First Team. The role is based at the Club’s £10 million Poolfoot Farm training facility.

Key Responsibilities Academy Analysis Intern (six-month internship)
- To assist with filming training sessions and matches across age groups. Support the coding and tagging of match footage using analysis software.
- Contribute to the creation of post-match and post-training reports.
- Help maintain video libraries, databases, and performance archives.
- Support the collection and organisation of performance metrics.
- Produce simple data visualisations or summaries for coaches and players.
- Assist with opposition analysis tasks under supervision.
- Help identify trends or key learning points from footage and data.
- Support analysts in preparing clips for player meetings or unit reviews.
- Assist with presenting information in a clear, engaging, and age-appropriate way.
- Attend relevant meetings to observe how analysis informs coaching practice.
- Maintain a reflective log of learning and development.
- Engage in shadowing opportunities with senior analysts and coaches.
- Seek feedback and apply it to improve work quality and understanding.

Academy Operations Intern (six-month internship)
- To facilitate and deliver the registration of all Academy players in accordance with the regulations by which the Club is bound, including; Player Contracts, Registrations with EFL, Using FIFA TMS where required.
- Support the Recruitment team with trialist registrations, scout requests and general administration. Ensure compliance with all rules and regulations of the various football authorities, and that all relevant paperwork, submissions and surveys are completed on time.
- Use of IFAS and MOAS system. Use of the Kitman Labs system ensuring all staff are up to date with logging information as required.
- Work closely with finance department to ensure all invoices are paid and accurate.
- Liaison with all football bodies, i.e. Day-to-day contact with The Football Association, English Football League, PGMOL, Lancashire FA, and other relevant authorities and attend meetings as and when required.
- Maintaining filing system for the department, including player’s contractual files. Liaise with all other EFL clubs to ensure fixtures are organised. Knowledge of youth regulations including training compensation and solidarity payments.
- Act as secretary of various meetings across the Academy department, keeping minutes and storing onto Kitman Labs system.
- Assist all Academy departments to maintain the Academy Performance Plan ensuring it is relevant and up to date. Commitment to safeguarding practices and always upholding professional standards. Other duties outside of this specification as directed.
