Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Window Fitter to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in installing and repairing windows, with a comprehensive understanding of various construction and fabrication techniques. Duties
- Measure, cut, and install a variety of window units in residential and commercial buildings
- Ensure precise fitting and sealing of windows to optimise energy efficiency and security
- Read and interpret schematics, technical drawings, and installation instructions
- Use hand tools, power tools, and specialised fabrication equipment to complete installations
- Collaborate with other trades such as roofing, carpentry, masonry, and electrical teams to coordinate project tasks
- Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to health and safety regulations
- Conduct inspections of completed work to ensure compliance with specifications and standards
- Assist in the preparation of surfaces through plastering or construction painting as needed
Experience
- Proven experience in window fitting or related construction roles
- Knowledge of roofing, plumbing, welding, electrical systems, and masonry is advantageous
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, and fabrication machinery
- Familiarity with schematics, technical drawings, and construction plans
- Prior experience working on projects involving construction painting or plastering is desirable
- Strong understanding of safety protocols within the construction industry
