Responsibilities
- Purchase equipment and services to support project managers, and internal customers as required. This process will include preparation of enquiries, purchase orders, evaluation of bids and contractual negotiations to optimise returns achieving/improving upon budgeted costs, ensuring ‘best practice’.
- Manage suppliers to meet objectives related to cost, delivery and performance.
- Negotiate with suppliers on lead-time, cost and quality to obtain maximum benefit to the business.
- Perform regular performance review with suppliers to drive continuous improvements.
- Coordinate documentation approvals, submissions and monitor returns.
- Provide feedback to the business as appropriate.
- Aid internal customers with advice and estimates for costs goods, services, manufacturing & shipping.
- Undertake alternative supplier evaluations in readiness for future strategic challenges, within the supply chain, when required.
- Adhere to purchase order governance, ensuring professional consideration is given to the three key supplier/contractual characteristics.
- Provide support as required to other members of the procurement team
- Provide support as required to other members of ECS Engineering Services.
- Any other duties assigned in line with the scope and seniority of the role.
Skills & Qualifications
- Able to demonstrate strong commercial acumen and relationship building skills
- Able to demonstrate a track record of cost savings
- Ability to manage end-to-end purchasing process
- Excellent understanding of contract law, negotiation and supply chain optimisation
- Results driven
- Excellent analytically and numerical skills
- Highly competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel)
- Achieved or studying towards a recognised procurement qualification MCIPS or equivalent (Desirable)
