About Us
We are a small, friendly, and rapidly expanding accountancy practice based in Tewkesbury, providing a wide range of accountancy, bookkeeping, payroll, tax and business support services to clients across multiple industries.
As our client base continues to grow, we're looking for an organised, proactive and enthusiastic Accounts Administrator to join our close-knit team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, thrives in a busy office environment, and wants to develop their skills within a modern accountancy practice.
No two days are the same, so you'll need to be adaptable, eager to learn and happy to get involved with a wide range of administrative and accounting tasks.
The Role
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
- Processing sales and purchase invoices
- Carrying out bank reconciliations
- Maintaining accurate bookkeeping records
- Preparing and organising client files
- General office administration and filing (both electronic and paper)
- Assisting with Companies House submissions
- Assisting with HMRC submissions
- Supporting the onboarding of new clients
- Preparing client engagement letters and other legally binding documentation
- Producing professional letters, reports and correspondence
- Taking accurate notes during client meetings
- Updating and maintaining our Practice Management (PM) software
- Managing client records and ensuring compliance documentation is up to date
- Liaising with clients via telephone, email and in person
- Supporting the wider team with administrative and bookkeeping duties
- Assisting with workflow management and ensuring deadlines are met
- Helping improve and maintain internal processes and procedures
- Providing general administrative support to the directors and wider team
- Any other duties appropriate to the role within a busy and growing accountancy practice
Software You'll Use
Experience with any of the following is desirable:
- Xero
- Sage
- QuickBooks
- FreeAgent
- Google Workspace (particularly Sheets, Docs, Gmail and Calendar)
- Practice Management software (experience beneficial, although full training will be provided)
About You
We're looking for someone who:
- Has excellent organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Is confident working with numbers and financial information
- Has excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Can prioritise workload and work effectively under pressure
- Is professional, reliable, trustworthy and discreet
- Is confident communicating directly with clients in a friendly and professional manner
- Works well independently as well as part of a small team
- Has strong IT skills and enjoys learning new software
- Has previous administration, bookkeeping or accountancy practice experience (preferred but not essential)
- Has a positive attitude, willingness to learn and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Takes pride in producing accurate, high-quality work
