FLT Operator (Counterbalance/ PPT)
Location: Shrewsbury / Shawbury
Working Hours: 6:00am – 5:30pm
Pay Rate: £13.00– £13.50 per hour
Overview
We are currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated MHE Operator to join a busy food production environment based in the Shrewsbury / Shawbury area. This role is ideal for candidates with previous FLT or PPT experience who are looking to work within a fast-paced warehouse and production setting.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe handling, movement, and storage of stock and materials while supporting the smooth day-to-day running of warehouse and production operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate FLT and PPT equipment safely and efficiently throughout the warehouse and production areas.
- Load, unload, move, and store goods in line with operational requirements.
- Pick and pack products accurately to meet daily production and dispatch targets.
- Support goods-in and goods-out processes, checking deliveries against documentation.
- Ensure stock is stored correctly and warehouse areas are kept clean and organised.
- Use warehouse management systems to maintain accurate stock control and inventory records.
- Assist with stock checks and inventory counting procedures.
- Carry out basic equipment inspections and report any faults or maintenance concerns.
- Follow all health & safety, food hygiene, and company procedures at all times.
- Work collaboratively with warehouse and production teams to achieve operational goals.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating FLT or PPT equipment is preferred.
- Valid FLT licence/certification would be advantageous.
- Experience within a warehouse or food production environment is beneficial.
- Good attention to detail and ability to work to targets in a fast-paced setting.
- Physically fit and able to carry out manual handling duties when required.
- Basic numerical skills for stock control and inventory tasks.
- Strong awareness of health & safety procedures.
- Reliable, hardworking, and able to work effectively as part of a team.
