Job Title: Sous Chef
Location: Based primarily at our Harston kitchen, with the exciting opportunity to travel to a variety of locations when on event days.
Salary: £35,000 – £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Hours: 5 days over 7 (rotas planned in advance)
About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Senior Chef to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing, cooking, and presenting high-quality dishes in line with company standards, while maintaining consistency, safety, and efficiency in a fast-paced catering environment.
You will also play a key role in leading and supporting the kitchen team on event days across multiple locations, ensuring smooth operations and exceptional delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook, and present food to set recipes and portion standards.
- Uphold excellent food safety, hygiene, and allergen control at all times.
- Work efficiently to meet service deadlines and client expectations.
- Assist with stock rotation, deliveries, and overall kitchen organisation.
- Collaborate with colleagues to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
- Support all chefs with kitchen duties as required.
- Lead and manage the kitchen team during events, ensuring high standards are maintained.
About You
- Proven experience as a Chef in catering, events, or a similar role.
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
- Supervisory experience with the ability to motivate and manage a team.
- Excellent organisational and multitasking skills in a busy environment.
- Passionate about hospitality and delivering outstanding dining experiences.
- Culinary qualifications or certifications (preferred but not essential).
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Chef or in a similar culinary role
- Strong background in food preparation, cooking, and food safety practices.
- Supervising experience with the ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to multitask in a busy kitchen setting.
- A passion for hospitality and delivering exceptional dining experiences.
- Culinary qualifications or certifications are preferred but not essential.
