Team Manager – Assessment & Intervention

Pay: £42.84 per hour
Contract: Locum, Full-time hours
Sanctuary Personnel is currently recruiting for an experienced and motivated Team Manager to join an Assessment & Intervention Service in Slough. This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled children’s social work professional looking to take on a leadership role within a fast-paced frontline service dedicated to safeguarding and improving outcomes for children and families.
This position is ideal for a confident leader with extensive experience in children’s assessment services who can support, guide, and develop a team of social workers while ensuring high standards of practice and effective risk management.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage a team of Social Workers and Senior Social Workers within the Assessment & Intervention Service
- Oversee the delivery of high-quality assessments, child protection investigations, and statutory interventions
- Ensure safeguarding responsibilities are carried out effectively in line with legislation, policy, and best practice
- Provide reflective supervision, guidance, and performance management to staff
- Promote positive outcomes for children, young people, and families through effective care planning and intervention
- Manage complex cases and support staff with decision-making and risk assessment
- Ensure compliance with statutory timescales and regulatory requirements
- Build strong partnerships with multi-agency professionals and external stakeholders
- Support continuous service improvement and contribute to a positive team culture
Requirements
- Social Work England registration
- Recognised Social Work qualification
- Significant post-qualification experience within children’s social work
- Previous Team Manager experience within a children’s assessment team is essential
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding legislation, child protection procedures, and statutory guidance
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills
- Ability to manage competing priorities within a demanding frontline environment
