The Assistant Spa Manager is required to support the Spa Manager and ensure the smooth running of the treatment department, offering guests ultimate customer service.
As the Assistant Spa Manager, you will support the Spa Manager in ensuring the smooth running of the treatment department and provide effective professional management to your team with regards to training, standards, customer service and meeting sales target and KPI’s. With guest satisfaction at the forefront of what we do, you will ensure guest schedules are suitable and extra care is taken at all times.
You will assist in ensuring the team are trained to the highest standards, and are there to assist our guests with any needs they may have throughout their stay with us and ensure they leave wanting more!
You will ensure high standards of presentation and cleanliness are maintained at all times and that your team are supported in achieving their retail and treatment sales targets as set.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
*To assist in ensuring the effective professional management of the daily operation of the Spa Department.
*To manage good staff/colleagues relationships within the department.
*To assist with training and development to ensure ultimate client care.
*To operate the Spa Department in a cost effective manner in line with department budgets.
* To assist in managing Spa employees to achieve retail and treatment sales targets as set.
*To assist the management of the Platinum Service within the Spa Department.
*To carry out department inspections and report findings to the Spa Manager and SpaDirector.
*To ensure procedures in the department support ultimate client care.
*Assessment and recruitment of required staff.
*All new staff to receive a detailed department induction and company induction.
*Ensure the treatment desk is covered at all times.
*To encourage and motivate staff to reach set targets.
*Ensure all departmental billing is carried out accurately and on time. Liaise with ‘Front of House’ to ensure correct billing.

*Workload to all staff is evenly distributed.
*Ensure high standards of presentation and cleanliness are maintained at all times within the department.
*Schedules are all suitable and care is taken to the planning of a guest’s stay.
*All front line people are trained in the standards and procedures required.
*Complaints are analysed and training carried out when needed.
*Ensure all members of staff are aware of actions to be taken in the event of a fire, ensure safety of all equipment at all times.
*Be aware of any hazardous substances in use within your department, if they are notifiable substances notify your Health & Safety Officer in order that they may be registered.
*Ensure that all members of staff are aware of all aspects of safety connected with their jobs.
*Ensure that all members of staff are wearing protective clothing if necessary for a-particular job or treatment.
*All members of staff must be properly trained and qualified before doing any treatment/class.
*Responsible for the Health & Safety within the department. Maintain first-aid boxwithin your department.
REQUIREMENTS
*Qualifications NVQ 2 and 3 or equivalent.
*Experience as a Senior Beauty Therapist essential.
*Experience in a managerial role and people manager essential.
SKILLS
*Ability to organise and prioritise work.
*Be able to motivate and manage a team effectively.
*Be familiar with computer packages.
