Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our dynamic culinary team. Duties
- Assist the Head Chef in overseeing daily kitchen operations and ensuring smooth workflow
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training and mentoring team members
- Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with established recipes and presentation standards
- Coordinate food production to meet service times and customer expectations
- Maintain strict adherence to food safety and hygiene regulations at all times
- Monitor stock levels, assist with inventory control, and place orders as needed
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment
- Support the development of new menu items and seasonal specials
- Serve as a key point of contact during service periods, ensuring excellent customer satisfaction
- Uphold hospitality standards by providing exceptional service alongside culinary excellence
Experience
- Proven supervising experience within a professional kitchen environment
- Extensive background in food preparation, cooking, and food production processes
- Strong team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
- Demonstrable experience in food safety compliance and hygiene standards
- Previous restaurant experience is highly desirable, particularly within high-volume settings
- Knowledge of hospitality operations including serving procedures is advantageous
- A recognised culinary qualification or equivalent professional training is preferred
