Lead Elite Development Coach
Location: Brixton
Schedule: Evenings (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday Evenings) & Weekends (Saturday–Sunday mornings)
Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Lead Elite Development Coach to oversee the planning and delivery of high-quality football coaching sessions for children aged 3 to 16 years. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading groups of players and coaches, ensuring the consistent implementation of the club’s development philosophy, and fostering a positive, safe, and challenging environment. It is important that a coach comes with high energy and enthusiasm and the desire to take control of our development sessions and make them the best they can be.
This role requires strong leadership, a passion for youth development, and the ability to work evenings and weekends consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage coaching sessions across all age groups (3–16), ensuring age-appropriate delivery and engagement.
- Supervise and mentor a team of development coaches, providing feedback and support to maintain coaching standards.
- Develop and implement session plans aligned with the club’s curriculum and long-term player development goals.
- Monitor player progress through regular assessments and maintain accurate records.
- Foster a positive and inclusive environment for all participants, emphasizing enjoyment, learning, and personal development.
- Communicate effectively with players, parents, and staff to build strong relationships and maintain high levels of engagement.
- Ensure safeguarding, health & safety, and welfare policies are consistently upheld.
- Support talent identification and provide clear progression pathways for standout players.
- Contribute to coach development workshops and internal CPD opportunities.
Requirements:
- Minimum FA Level 2 / UEFA C License
- Proven experience leading groups of players and managing coaching teams.
- Strong track record of working with children across a wide age range (3–16).
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced DBS (or willingness to obtain).
- Valid First Aid and Safeguarding certificates.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including weekday evenings and both weekend days.
Desirable:
- Experience working in a football academy or elite youth environment.
- Background in early years coaching (ages 3–6).
- Knowledge of long-term athlete development (LTAD) models.
- CPD qualifications or willingness to further coaching education.
