Responsibilities
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and adherence to food safety standards
- Supervise and manage kitchen staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and presentation standards
- Lead food production activities, ensuring timely delivery of high-quality meals to guests
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment in compliance with health regulations
- Collaborate with management on menu development, ingredient sourcing, and inventory control
- Monitor food quality during preparation and service to uphold consistency and excellence
- Ensure all team members follow safety procedures and proper handling of equipment and ingredients
- Serve as a role model for professionalism, teamwork, and culinary innovation within the establishment
Experience
- Proven experience in a professional kitchen environment, ideally within a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience in a culinary context is highly desirable
- Strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking techniques
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage a diverse team effectively
- Extensive knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices in kitchen hygiene
- Experience with menu planning, ingredient sourcing, and inventory management is advantageous
