About the Role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, reliable, and confident Cover Supervisor to join a friendly and welcoming secondary school in Sheffield from September on a full-time, fixed-term basis for the entire academic year.
This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to further develop their experience within a school setting, whether you are considering a future career in teaching, education, youth work, or pastoral support. You will become part of a dedicated and supportive school community that is committed to fostering a positive learning environment where every student is encouraged to achieve their full potential.
As a Cover Supervisor, you will play a vital role in ensuring continuity of learning during teacher absences, helping students remain engaged, motivated, and focused on their work. The school prides itself on its inclusive ethos, strong pastoral support, and commitment to student success, making it a fantastic place to develop your skills and gain valuable classroom experience.

- Provide clear and accurate feedback to teaching staff regarding student progress, behaviour, and classroom engagement.
- Build positive relationships with students, acting as a consistent and approachable presence within the school.
- Support the wider school community and contribute to the smooth day-to-day running of the school where required.
About You
- Relevant qualifications, such as a degree or equivalent experience within an educational setting.
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally within a school, college, or classroom environment.
- A strong understanding of behaviour management strategies and the ability to maintain high expectations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to quickly build positive relationships with students and staff.
- Confidence, resilience, and adaptability when working in a fast-paced school environment.
- A proactive and professional approach, with a genuine commitment to supporting student development and wellbeing.
