Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Primary School
Location: Northwich, Cheshire
Excell Supply is currently recruiting for an experienced and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to work within a welcoming and supportive primary school in Northwich.
This is an excellent opportunity for a passionate education professional who is committed to helping children achieve their full potential while supporting high-quality teaching and learning across the school. The successful candidate will be confident leading whole-class learning, delivering lessons in the absence of the class teacher, and providing targeted support to pupils across the primary age range.
About the Role
As a HLTA, you will work closely with teachers and senior leaders to support pupils' learning and development. You will be confident leading whole-class learning, delivering planned lessons in the absence of teachers, and providing targeted support to individuals and groups of pupils.
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering lessons and learning activities across EYFS, KS1 and KS2 as required.
- Supporting pupils to achieve academic and personal success.
- Working collaboratively with teaching staff to plan and deliver engaging learning experiences.
- Providing intervention support to raise attainment and close learning gaps.
- Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining a safe, inclusive learning environment.
- Contributing to the wider life of the school community.
The Successful Candidate Will:
- Hold a recognised HLTA qualification or equivalent experience.
- Have recent experience working within a primary school setting.
- Demonstrate strong classroom management skills.
- Be confident covering classes across different year groups.
- Have excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Be passionate about supporting children's learning and wellbeing.
- Work effectively as part of a team and use their own initiative.
