1. POSITION
This position is based at the location defined in your contract of employment and you will report to the Dairy Manager. You may be required, however, to work at other local depots from time to time, as required, to meet the needs of the business.
2. PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES
· To run and maintain fillers and other related equipment. Operates continuous flow or vat-type equipment to process milk, cream. Responsible for quality and food safety.
· To ensure that product is packed safely onto pallets and trollies to a high standard and quality.
3. MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
3.1 Clean, set-up, operate and monitor equipment of the production line.
3.2 Complete all required documentation and scheduled quality checks.
3.3 Make adjustments to Filler timing and filling.
3.4 Ability to troubleshoot and resolve basic to moderate operating difficulties. Assist with identifying opportunities to improve processes.
3.5 Collect required samples needed for Quality Assurance testing
3.6 Ensure that the proper packaging materials are used for each product being produced (i.e. label and cap) and that the correct codes are printed onto labels.
3.7 Prepare equipment for next run to include size changes as needed.
3.8 To have working knowledge and experience with wrapper operations
3.9 To complete “clean as you go” during each shift and carry out all automated and manual cleaning of equipment and work environment ensuring that the department is operating to the highest standards of hygiene. To assist in the end of shift cleaning duties.
3.10 To minimise waste of products, chemicals and water whilst undertaking duties within the department.
3.11 To understand the critical control points identified through HACCP and ensure that they are in operation at all times.
3.12 To ensure that all relevant quality records are completed, with sign off where required, every fifteen minutes.
3.13 To assist in the review and update (where necessary) of all work instructions, procedures, risk assessments and safe working practices.
3.14 Undertake your duties in a safe and efficient manner and be aware of and comply with your obligations under the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974. Also, participate in all training, e.g. manual handling and adhere to all company rules and procedures.
3.15 To undertake other duties and responsibilities as directed by your manager or Supervisor which will assist the Company to meet its objectives and/or which will contribute to your own personal development.
4. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
· Experienced at analysing process data and equipment performance data to improve quality, throughput, and troubleshoot.
· Able to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
· Safe and effective operation and maintenance of:-
o Pallet wrap machines
· Basic food hygiene certification
· Knowledge of personal Health and Safety obligations
· Awareness of:-
o Manual handling
o Company policies and procedures
o COSHH
· Good communication skills and teamwork

Salary: £12.71
24 hours per week, 3 x 8 hours days (Tues, Thurs & Saturday)
Pay: £12.71 per hour
