Due to being successfully awarded a new contract within Northumberland, Welcome Care and Support is expanding its Children's Services provision and is seeking an experienced and motivated Children's Outreach Team Leader to join our growing team.

About the Role
As a Children's Outreach Team Leader, you will play a key role in leading and supporting a team of Outreach Support Workers to deliver high-quality, child-centred services throughout Northumberland.
You will be responsible for ensuring children and young people receive safe, effective, and outcome-focused support that promotes independence, wellbeing, and inclusion within their local communities.
This is a varied role that combines leadership, quality assurance, service development, and direct involvement in the onboarding of new care packages.
Your duties will include:
- Leading, mentoring, and supporting a team of Children's Outreach Support Workers.
- Coordinating and overseeing outreach support packages.
- Supporting with new care referrals and service enquiries.
- Completing initial assessments for children and young people entering the service.
- Developing and reviewing person-centred care plans and risk assessments.
- Ensuring care and support is delivered in line with individual care plans, risk assessments, and agreed outcomes.
- Monitoring the quality of service delivery and maintaining high standards of care.
- Building positive relationships with children, young people, families, local authorities, schools, and partner agencies.
- Supporting staff through supervision, coaching, training, and performance management.
- Managing rotas and assisting with service planning and development.
- Ensuring compliance with safeguarding procedures, policies, CQC regulations, and organisational standards.
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to audits and quality assurance activities.
- Supporting the Registered Manager with the continued growth and development of Children's Services across Northumberland.
What We're Looking For
We are seeking a confident and compassionate leader who has experience working with children and young people and is passionate about achieving positive outcomes.
The ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience supporting children and young people with a range of needs.
- Experience leading, supervising, or mentoring staff within a care or support setting.
- Experience completing assessments, care plans, and risk assessments.
- Strong communication, organisational, and leadership skills.
- A sound understanding of safeguarding and child protection practices.
- The ability to build positive relationships with families and professionals.
- A proactive approach with a commitment to delivering high-quality, person-centred support.
Essential Requirements
- Full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle.
- Enhanced DBS check, or Welcome care and support can support with obtaining one for you.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Relevant Health and Social Care qualification (Level 3 or above desirable).
- Experience within children's services, outreach support, residential care, or a related setting.
