The Children’s Centre Early Years Teacher is a 6-7-month contract role with a local authority, focused on delivering high-quality care and education for children from birth to 5 years. This position is crucial for the effective development and implementation of the Early Years curriculum, adhering to the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) standards. The role plays a significant part in fostering a nurturing and educational environment for young children.

Develop and implement the Early Years curriculum in accordance with the EYFS Framework.

Lead the planning of engaging and age-appropriate learning activities for children aged 0–5.

Monitor and evaluate curriculum delivery to ensure consistently high-quality practice.

Promote the importance of play in children’s learning, both indoors and outdoors.

Assess, observe, and track children’s progress, ensuring accurate record-keeping.

Use assessment outcomes to inform future planning and individual learning strategies.

Ensure children with Special Educational Needs (SEN) have full access to the curriculum.

Support children subject to child protection plans in line with legislation and policies.
Requirements

Proven experience teaching children aged 3–5 years.

Experience working with children aged birth to 3 years (desirable).

Experience within non-school or integrated early years settings (desirable).

Experience working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – essential.

Relevant teaching qualification with a focus on Early Years.

DBS required.
