We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to assist with our delivery of MOD / Defence Projects at Rock Barracks, Wattisham Airfield, Woodbridge, MCTC and Wethersfield.
The main roles and responsibilities of the Multi-Skilled Engineer will include, but are not limited to:
You will be required to carry out planned and reactive maintenance across a range of plumbing, building fabric and basic electrical systems. Duties will include maintaining and repairing hot and cold water services, sanitary ware, pipework, valves, drainage systems and associated plumbing installations, alongside general building fabric repairs including doors, locks, ceilings, flooring, decorating, minor carpentry and other associated maintenance tasks.
You may also undertake non-intrusive electrical planned preventative maintenance (PPM) activities, including distribution board visual inspections, emergency lighting function testing and the reporting of defects. Formal electrical qualifications are not essential; however, candidates must have a sound understanding of electrical safety and be competent in carrying out these routine maintenance activities safely and effectively.
You will have an analytical approach to work, the ability to work both individually and collaboratively, and have an organised, calm and adaptable nature to deal with a variety of situations whilst under pressure and manage your workload to meet contractual KPI’s.
You Will Need
The ideal candidate will have a trade background with experience in plumbing and building fabric maintenance services and hold an industry recognized qualification, such as an NVQ Level 2/3, City & Guilds or formal apprenticeship in a relevant discipline.
Experience of commercial maintenance environments is preferable, along with practical knowledge of plumbing systems, building fabric repairs and basic electrical maintenance activities.
A solid understanding of Health & Safety requirements and safe working practices is essential, together with the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients.
A full UK driving licence is required.
Experience working within MOD, Defence or other secure environments would be advantageous.
