Team Leader – Residential Care
Salary: £15.34 per hour + £70 per night for sleep-ins
Hours: Full-time, 40 hours per week
Location: Northampton
About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated Team Leader to join our residential care service supporting young people aged 8–18 with learning disabilities and challenging behaviour. This role is varied and rewarding, requiring strong leadership to ensure a safe, supportive, and nurturing environment where young people can thrive physically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and support a team of residential care workers to maintain high standards of care.
- Assist the Manager in the daily operation of the home.
- Ensure care plans are implemented, recorded, and reviewed effectively.
- Participate in and sometimes lead key meetings, including reviews and case conferences.
- Promote positive activities and life skills development for residents.
- Oversee household duties and maintain a clean, safe environment.
- Administer medication and manage related documentation.
- Respond to emergencies and provide physical intervention when necessary, following policies and legislation.
- Act as a positive role model to both staff and young people.
- Maintain communication and liaison with families and external professionals.
Requirements
- Level 3 qualification in Residential Childcare or equivalent
- Minimum two years’ relevant residential care experience in the last five years.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills.
- Flexibility to work across shifts, including sleep-ins.
