Support Worker / Carer (Live-In) – No Visa Sponsorship
Candidates living within or near the Croydon area will be preferred.
We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Live-In Support Worker/Carer to support a female service user with complex needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) and trauma-related conditions.
Please only apply if you have experience working with individuals with autism and trauma.
This is a full-time live-in role, typically working three weeks on and one week off. However, we can offer flexibility for the right candidate, such as two weeks on and two weeks off.
A free bedroom with all bills included will be provided whilst you are on shift. There are always 2–3 support workers on duty at any one time. Please note that you will be required to return to your own home during your time off, so please consider any travel costs before applying.
Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality daily support.
- Prepare and serve meals.
- Administer or assist with medication in line with care plans.
- Support with household tasks, including cleaning and laundry.
- Provide emotional support and maintain a safe, nurturing environment.
- De-escalate challenging situations calmly and professionally, particularly when service users are experiencing distress or trauma.
- Complete professional care documentation, including care plans, risk assessments, and daily reports.
Essential Requirements
- Previous experience supporting individuals with autism and trauma is essential.
- Ability to remain calm and professional when managing challenging behaviour, including verbal aggression.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy, and a genuinely caring nature.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage challenges effectively.
- A genuine passion for supporting and caring for others.
- Ability to write professional care plans, risk assessments, and daily reports.
