Overview
We are seeking a talented and experienced South Indian Chef and Front of House professional to join our vibrant restaurant team. This dual role combines culinary expertise specialising in South Indian cuisine with exceptional front-of-house service skills. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing authentic dishes, supervising kitchen operations, and delivering outstanding hospitality to our guests. Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook authentic South Indian dishes, ensuring high-quality standards and flavour authenticity
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, supervising kitchen staff and maintaining efficient workflow
- Manage food production processes, including ingredient preparation, cooking, and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness and organisation within the kitchen
- Lead and motivate the front of house team to deliver excellent customer service
- Greet guests warmly, take orders, serve food and beverages, and handle customer enquiries professionally
- Assist in managing reservations, table allocations, and ensuring smooth service flow during busy periods
- Monitor stock levels, place orders for supplies, and manage inventory efficiently
- Uphold high standards of hospitality whilst fostering a welcoming atmosphere for all guests
Skills
- Proven supervising experience within a busy restaurant or hospitality environment
- Strong background in food production, food preparation, and cooking specific to South Indian cuisine
- Demonstrated team management skills with the ability to lead and motivate staff effectively
- Excellent knowledge of food safety standards and regulations
- Experience in restaurant operations including serving, customer service, and hospitality management
- Leadership qualities with the ability to organise tasks efficiently under pressure
- Good communication skills with a friendly and professional demeanour
- Ability to work flexibly across kitchen and front of house roles as needed
