Field Support Supervisor
Location: Office-based with field responsibilities
Reporting to: Registered Manager
We are seeking a committed and experienced Field Support Supervisor to support the Registered Manager in overseeing our care operations. This role is essential in ensuring that our home care services are safe, effective, caring, responsive, and well-led, in line with CQC regulations and best practice.
Purpose of the Role
To oversee day-to-day care delivery, support by Mentoring and coaching the care team, and ensure compliance with a Knowledge of Quality Monitoring and maintaining CQC regulations, company policies, and individual care plans—promoting high standards of person-centred care at all times.
Key Responsibilities (CQC-Aligned)
Safe
- Ensure care is delivered in line with individual care plans, risk assessments, and safeguarding procedures to meet CQC guidance.
- Monitor compliance with health and safety policies, infection control, medication support procedures, and incident reporting.
- Undertake spot checks and audits to identify risks and take timely corrective action.
- Escalate safeguarding concerns promptly in line with local authority and organisational procedures.
Effective
- Support care staff to deliver evidence-based, outcome-focused care that meets assessed needs.
- Ensure care staff receive appropriate induction, training, supervision, and competency assessments.
- Review care plans regularly to ensure they are accurate, up to date, and reflective of client needs.
- Work closely with healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and effective care by carrying out Reviews of service delivery
Caring
- Promote dignity, respect, independence, and choice in all aspects of care delivery.
- Act as a point of contact for clients and families, ensuring concerns and feedback are listened to and addressed compassionately.
- Lead by example in demonstrating person-centred, values-led care aligned with company values.
Responsive
- Support the management of staff rotas to ensure continuity of care and timely response to changing needs.
- Respond effectively to concerns, complaints, and incidents, ensuring learning and improvement.
- Ensure services are flexible and responsive to clients’ preferences, cultural needs, and expectations .
Well-Led
- Support the Care Manager in maintaining compliance with CQC regulations and internal quality standards by monitoring the Quality of service provision.
- Provide day-to-day leadership and supervision to care staff, fostering a positive, accountable, and professional culture.
- Maintain accurate records, audits, and reports using care management IT systems.
- Promote continuous improvement, learning, and openness across the service.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
- Previous supervisory experience within health and social care (domiciliary care preferred).
- Strong understanding of CQC regulations, Fundamental Standards, and safeguarding principles.
- Proven leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and support teams.
- Valid UK driving licence and willingness to travel between client locations.
- Competent IT skills, including care management systems and electronic record keeping.
- Ability to work independently, make sound decisions, and escalate appropriately.
- Compassionate, professional, and values-driven approach to care.
