We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker specialising in Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) to join our team. Responsibilities
- Support children and young people with SEMH needs in daily activities, ensuring their safety and emotional wellbeing.
- Assist in the development and implementation of individualised care plans tailored to each child's needs.
- Foster positive behaviour through consistent support, encouragement, and appropriate behavioural strategies.
- Facilitate communication between children, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure cohesive care delivery.
- Support with transportation needs, including driving children to appointments or activities when required.
- Promote social inclusion by encouraging participation in educational, recreational, and community activities.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and incidents in line with organisational policies.
- Contribute to creating a nurturing environment that promotes independence and confidence among children.
Skills
- Experience working with children, particularly those with SEMH or behavioural challenges.
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with children, families, and team members.
- Ability to develop and follow care plans tailored to individual needs.
- Good organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities efficiently.
- IT literacy for maintaining records and completing documentation accurately.
- Driving licence is desirable for supporting transportation duties but not essential.
- Empathy, patience, and resilience are key qualities for success in this role.
