Definition:
Plans the daily workload and communicates with all levels of the management team. Leads a team of warehouse operatives and motivates to achieve the common deadlines of the business. Deputises for the Warehouse manager when not available and within the common goals set by the warehouse manager and Earthmet processes and procedures
Overall, Purpose of the Role:
Assist the Warehouse Manager in maintaining the smooth operation of a fast-moving environment. Responsible for the day-to-day management of people within the warehouse function, to ensure company's targets and objectives are met to meet customer requirements, ensuring that staff comply with health, safety and standard operating procedures. Responsible for housekeeping standards and continuous improvement within the warehouse. Act independently at the organisational level. Outcomes reviewed by organisational head. Decisions and results have an impact on the function and their success. Performance affects the function’s image
Key Responsibilities:
General and Task Management
- Provide a safe working environment, adhering to Health, Safety and Environmental procedures and ensuring they are understood and practiced by the team at all times
- Plan, co-ordinate and monitor the receipt, storage and dispatch of goods
- Ensure orders are processed efficiently and that the delivery of materials meets customers timescales/requirements
- Supervise and control order picking, goods in, goods out operations to ensure accuracy with minimum handling and stock damage
- Assist the Warehouse Manager in Organising, and facilitate and lead staff at stock takes at regular intervals
- Ensure that all relevant procedures and processes are followed and adhered to in line with the Company’s procedures and requirements
- Responsible for driving Standard Work and ensuring quality processes are implemented to ensure a "Right First Time" product to the customer aligned with their expectation
- Communicate well with the Warehouse Manager/ Operatives and share the same values and goals to implement change within a fast-moving environment.
- Ability to deal with customers on a level that is acceptable and courteous.

- Computer literate with good numeric skills Excel and Word
Qualifications and Experience Levels:
- Previous experience in a similar role is preferable.
- Able to demonstrate self-confidence and good communication skills.
- Stock Control and PI checks
- Electrical background would be an advantage.
- KPIs and performance monitoring.
- Able to investigate and resolve stock discrepancies
- NVQ Level 3 would be a clear advantage for this role
A good understanding of Excel and Word along with Outlook
Pay: £30,000.00-£35,000.00 per year
