Job Overview
We are looking to recruit a team member with a big personality who will work within our vibrant HUB Supported Art Studios for learning disabled and autistic adults.
As a Studio Support Worker, you’ll be helping the artists who attend our studio to engage in meaningful creative and cultural activities, encouraging them to work independently and develop their practice, helping them to stay creative, connected and smiling. You’ll support the delivery of daily workshops by professional artists, assist those in need of personal care, as well as head out on the minibus to escort people in and out of the studio, making sure their day starts with a warm welcome and ends with a friendly face.
You will need to be committed to a workplace culture based on autonomy, respect and dignity for those in need of additional support.

Duties
- Chaperone journeys in/out of the Studio on the minibus ensuring passengers enjoy the journey, feeling safe and welcome
- Assist with daily routines such as tea/coffee/lunch breaks, maintaining a clean and tidy studio environment, and personal care needs
- Assist workshop leaders with the delivery of their sessions as directed
- Entertain and encourage clients, fostering a fun and engaging environment
- Support clients with mobility needs around the studio
- Monitor and manage behavioural issues related to dementia or other cognitive conditions
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided and update individual care plans regularly
- Develop and nurture positive relationship with with parents, careers and healthcare teams to deliver tailored and holistic support
- Follow strict health and safety and safeguarding protocols
- Familiarise yourself with the social model of disability, promoting dignity, respect and independence at all times
Qualifications
- Prior experience in a care environment is highly desirable
- Experience with behaviour management and developing personalised care plans
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to handle multiple responsibilities effectively
- Compassionate nature with excellent communication skills and patience when working with vulnerable individuals
- Strong communication skills with a variety of stakeholders
- Ability to assist with mobility needs
- Ability to work fixed hours Tuesday & Wednesday 08:20-17:20
- Flexibility to work additional shifts covering sickness/holiday as and when needed is highly desirable
