Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Community Support Workers to provide essential care and assistance within our community settings. Duties
- Assist clients with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, dressing, and mobility support
- Provide specialised care for individuals with Alzheimer's, dementia, or other cognitive impairments
- Support patients with medication administration in accordance with healthcare plans
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary requirements
- Offer emotional support and behavioural management to promote well-being
- Drive clients to appointments, social activities, or errands as needed
- Assist with light housekeeping tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
- Monitor health status and report any concerns to healthcare professionals promptly
- Engage clients in recreational activities to encourage social interaction and mental stimulation
- Follow all health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
Qualifications
- Previous experience in assisted living, nursing home care, or home care is desirable
- Knowledge of dementia, Alzheimer's care, hospice care, and behaviour management techniques
- Certification in first aid is preferred; willingness to undertake training if not already qualified
- Valid driving licence for transporting clients safely
- Strong communication skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients of all ages
- Ability to perform heavy lifting when required and assist with mobility support
- Experience in meal preparation and medication administration is advantageous
- Compassionate attitude with a commitment to delivering high-quality patient care
- Flexibility to work varied shifts including days; some roles may involve evening or weekend work depending on service needs
