We are seeking a dedicated Operator to join our team, responsible for operating heavy machinery and ensuring the smooth execution of construction or industrial projects. The ideal candidate will possess a solid understanding of mechanical systems and have experience with specialised equipment such as excavators. Duties
- Operate heavy machinery including excavators, loaders, and other construction equipment in accordance with safety protocols.
- Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on machinery to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist with site preparation, material handling, and loading/unloading supplies using appropriate vehicles.
- Follow project plans and instructions from supervisors to complete tasks efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any equipment malfunctions or safety concerns promptly.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety regulations to minimise risks on-site.
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic issues with machinery.
- Proven experience operating excavators and other heavy construction equipment.
- Valid commercial driving licence with experience in operating lorries or specialised vehicles is desirable.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions and safety procedures.
- Physical fitness and stamina to perform manual tasks in various weather conditions.
