About the role
We are working with a specialist manufacturer operating within the infrastructure sector, delivering projects across rail, utilities, water, and marine environments.
We are seeking a hands-on Design Engineer with real-world construction or manufacturing experience to produce detailed 2D and 3D engineering designs from concept through to fabrication and as-built stages.
This is a practical position requiring strong technical capability and is best suited to a Design Engineer who understands how structures and components are built, manufactured, and installed. This is not a BIM coordination or architectural modelling role.
What you'll do

Produce 2D/3D CAD models using AutoCAD + SolidWorks / Inventor

Create fabrication and installation drawings for GRP/composite systems

Support design from concept through to manufacture and installation

Ensure designs are buildable, compliant, and technically sound

Produce as-built / red-line drawings from site input

Work closely with engineering, production and project teams
What we're looking for (ESSENTIAL)

Experience in civil, structural, mechanical, fabrication or installation design

Strong AutoCAD + SolidWorks or Inventor ability

Experience producing construction or manufacturing drawings

Understanding of structural or installation principles (loads, buildability, etc.)

Experience on live projects (not purely academic)

Full UK driving licence

GRP / composites / steelwork experience

Site or installation exposure

CDM / BS EN / Building Regs knowledge

HNC/HND/Degree in Engineering
