About the Role
You will teach Design Technology across Key Stage 3, Key Stage 4, and Key Stage 5, delivering lessons that combine practical workshop activities with theoretical understanding.
Students will develop skills in design processes, product development, materials technology, and technical drawing while building confidence in practical problem-solving and independent project work.
You will prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design Technology examinations, supporting them in coursework, practical assessments, and written examinations.
You will work collaboratively within the department to maintain high standards of teaching and student engagement.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Design Technology across KS3, KS4, and KS5
- Deliver practical and theory-based DT lessons
- Prepare students for GCSE and A-Level Design Technology examinations
- Supervise workshop and practical activities safely and effectively
- Assess student work and provide detailed feedback
- Maintain workshop equipment and ensure health and safety compliance
- Contribute to departmental planning and curriculum development
- Support enrichment and STEM-related activities

Essential Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

- Good communication and practical teaching skills
Desirable
- Experience teaching KS5 Design Technology
- Experience preparing students for GCSE and A-Level examinations
