JRB Construction Ltd is a specialist contractor delivering utility and infrastructure projects throughout the UK. Operating across power, civil engineering, construction and utility sectors, we provide expert services in HV/LV cable installation, utility ducting, substations, EV charging infrastructure and ICP works.
As part of our continued growth strategy, we are seeking an experienced and driven Business Development Manager to identify new opportunities, develop strategic relationships and help expand our presence across the utilities and infrastructure sectors.
Key Responsibilities
· Generate and secure new business opportunities across utilities, power, civil engineering and construction markets.
· Build and maintain relationships with DNOs, IDNOs, ICPs, utility providers, developers, principal contractors and key industry stakeholders.
· Promote JRB Construction’s full range of services including:
o HV & LV cable installation
o Utility ducting and infrastructure works
o Substation construction
o EV charging infrastructure
o ICP projects
o Civil engineering and construction services
· Support tender submissions, proposals and client presentations.
· Attend client meetings, industry events and networking opportunities.
· Develop and implement business development strategies aligned with company growth objectives.
· Monitor market trends, competitor activity and emerging opportunities.
· Work closely with operational and estimating teams to convert opportunities into successful projects.
· Maintain a robust sales pipeline and provide regular business development reporting.
Essential Requirements
· Proven experience in a Business Development, Commercial or Sales role within the utilities, power, infrastructure, civil engineering or construction sectors.
· Strong knowledge of:
o HV & LV cable installation
o Utility infrastructure and ducting
o Substations
o EV infrastructure
o ICP works
o Civil engineering and construction projects
· Demonstrable success in winning new business and developing long-term client relationships.
· Excellent communication, negotiation and presentation skills.
· Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
· Full UK Driving Licence.
Desirable Experience
· Existing network of contacts within the utilities and power sectors.
· Experience working with DNOs, IDNOs, utility providers, developers and principal contractors.
· Understanding of utility frameworks and procurement processes.
