Overview
We are seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our small team. The successful candidate will be responsible for safely transporting goods across various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and maintaining high standards of safety and customer service. This role offers an excellent opportunity for experienced drivers with a focus on commercial driving and delivery operations.
Responsibilities
- Operate flatbed lorries and other commercial vehicles in accordance with road safety regulations and company policies
- Plan routes efficiently to meet delivery schedules and optimise fuel consumption
- Load and unload cargo, ensuring items are secured properly during transit
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to identify any vehicle issues or safety concerns
- Maintain accurate delivery documentation and logs
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers, clients, and team members regarding delivery status or any unforeseen delays
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety guidelines during all aspects of driving and cargo handling
Experience
- Proven experience as a delivery driver or commercial driver, preferably with flatbed vehicle operation
- Valid driving licence suitable for operating large commercial vehicles (category C+E or equivalent)
- Demonstrated ability to handle flatbed loads safely and securely
- Prior experience in logistics or freight transportation is highly desirable
- Knowledge of road regulations, safety standards, and best practices in commercial driving
