Terminal Operator - Inverness
We are looking for a safety-focused, reliable and proactive Terminal Operator to join our team. This is a hands-on operational role responsible for helping ensure the safe, efficient and compliant running of terminal activities during each shift.
12 hour shifts, 2 Early Shifts, 2 Shipping Shifts and 2 night shifts
As a Terminal Operator, you will play a key role in maintaining safe site operations across the receipt, storage, transfer and loading of petroleum products by road and sea. You will monitor terminal activities, carry out inspections and audits, respond to alarms and incidents, and support product quality, stock control and operational maintenance activities.

Promote a strong health and safety culture and lead by example in safe working practices.

Take responsibility for personal safety and the safety of colleagues, contractors, visitors and customers on site.

Ensure compliance with all site rules, procedures, permits and PPE requirements.

Report incidents, near misses, defects, unsafe conditions and other concerns promptly using the appropriate systems.

Act as an Incident First Responder in emergency situations and take appropriate action to make situations safe.

Support emergency preparedness by participating in emergency exercises and scenario training.

Carry out audits and inspections of drivers, contractors, visitors, equipment and facilities.

Assist with inductions, visitor control and security pass arrangements.

Contribute to risk assessments and procedure reviews when required.

Safely receive fuel deliveries by ship and oversee discharge operations in line with terminal procedures.

Monitor and support road loading activities, ensuring drivers comply with loading procedures and site rules.

Operate terminal equipment and systems in accordance with procedures, manufacturer guidance and safe working principles.

Respond promptly and appropriately to alarms, alerts and operational issues.

Carry out daily checks, tank dips, inspections and operational maintenance tasks.

Record shift activities accurately, maintain the shift log and deliver clear written and verbal shift handovers.

Support stock management, stock reporting and reconciliation activities.

Conduct product sampling and quality testing to ensure compliance with specifications.

Supervise additive receipt and discharge processes.

Work with supervisors to coordinate maintenance activities and oversee contractors on site.

Maintain high standards of housekeeping across the terminal, office and external areas.

Build positive working relationships with drivers, shipping crews, contractors, colleagues and other stakeholders.

Communicate clearly and professionally at all times.

Experience of stock control, product handling, quality testing or operational logging would be advantageous
