About the Role
Sterling PVCU is a leading manufacturer of windows, doors, and conservatories, producing both PVC‑U and aluminium systems across modern manufacturing facilities.
Due to continued growth, we are recruiting an experienced Aluminium Manager/supervisor to take full responsibility for the aluminium manufacturing department. This role has overall accountability for aluminium production performance, quality, health & safety, and team leadership, acting as the senior lead for all aluminium operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee all aluminium manufacturing operations, ensuring production targets, quality standards, and delivery schedules are met
- Lead, manage, and develop aluminium supervisors and production teams
- Take ownership of health & safety within the aluminium department, ensuring compliance, audits, and safe working practices
- Control workflow and production planning for aluminium windows, doors, and associated systems
- Monitor and improve KPIs including output, efficiency, scrap, downtime, and labour utilisation
- Ensure all aluminium fabrication processes meet technical specifications and customer quality standards
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives across processes, layout, machinery use, and team capability
- Liaise with planning, quality, logistics, and senior management to maintain smooth factory operations
- Maintain accurate production, quality, and performance records
- Support recruitment, training, and performance management within the aluminium department
- Act as the senior point of escalation for aluminium‑related operational issues
About You
- Proven experience in an aluminium manufacturing management or senior supervisory role
- Strong background in aluminium window, door, Bi-folding doors and Patio production
- Excellent understanding of aluminium fabrication processes, quality control, and compliance
- Confident, hands‑on leader with the ability to manage teams and performance
- Strong organisational, planning, and problem‑solving skills
- Clear communicator, comfortable working across departments
- Reliable, driven, and comfortable in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment
Experience
- Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in aluminium manufacturing (preferred)
- Previous responsibility for teams, output, and department‑level performance
