Year 1 Teaching Assistant
Location: Openshaw, Manchester (M11)
Hours: Full Time, Monday-Friday
Start Date: 01/09/2026
An inclusive and friendly Primary School in Openshaw is looking to appoint a committed Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support teaching and learning within Key Stage 1.
This role will involve working alongside the class teacher to provide classroom support, reinforce key learning concepts and help pupils settle into structured classroom routines during an important stage of their development.

Supporting pupils with literacy, phonics and numeracy activities

Delivering small group interventions and classroom support

Encouraging engagement and participation during lessons

Assisting with classroom preparation and organisation

Providing additional support to pupils where needed

Promoting a calm, positive and inclusive learning environment

Has experience working with children in a school or childcare setting

Is confident supporting Key Stage 1 learners

Has strong communication and teamwork skills

Is organised, reliable and proactive

Has an interest in helping children achieve their potential
