Role: Operations Manager
Location: New Gatton Road, Bristol
Hours: 48 per week, core hours Monday – Friday but some flexibility may be required for ad-hoc weekends
Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience

The role: We are looking to recruit an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead the team in Bristol.
Key Responsibilities
- Full ownership of site performance across a recycling and depollution operation.
- Lead, develop and manage the workforce of employees, including supervisory levels who manage day to day operations.
- Oversee all people management activity, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management and employee relations, supported by HR and supervisory teams.
- Ensure compliance with relevant environmental permits and licences.
- Drive operational efficiency across processing, material recovery and logistics activities.
- Monitor and improve site performance through KPIs, data analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work closely with compliance, logistics and commercial teams to meet operational and customer requirements.
- Promote a strong safety-first culture and ensure consistent adherence to site procedures and standards.
- Respond effectively to operational issues to maintain throughput and service levels.
Skills & Experience Required
- Proven experience in an operational leadership role within recycling, waste management, vehicle depollution or a similar high-volume processing environment
- Experience managing large teams in fast-paced, high-throughput environments
- Demonstrable track record of delivering performance across safety, quality, cost and delivery
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving capability under pressure
- Ability to lead, develop and challenge teams to drive high performance
- Highly organised, with the ability to manage competing operational priorities
- Resilient, adaptable and comfortable operating in a demanding, regulated environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
- Relevant industry qualification such as WAMITAB, CIWM, or equivalent (desirable only, we are open to candidates from all industries)
