Sibford School are looking for a Teaching Assistant (SEND) supports the learning, progress and well-being of pupils with SEND through in-class support and the delivery of targeted interventions. Sibford is an all-through school, and the Teaching Assistant may work across all phases from Key Stage 1 to Key Stage 5.
Working under the direction of the SENCO, and SFL teachers, the post holder contributes to effective SEND provision by implementing planned strategies, enabling pupils to access the curriculum and make progress.
Classroom Support
- Provide in-class support to enable pupils to engage fully in lessons
- Assist pupils with understanding tasks, organising their work, and developing independence
- Use and adapt resources provided by teachers or the HLTA to support learning
- Support pupils during practical activities, coursework and assessments where appropriate
Interventions
- Deliver planned interventions to individuals and small groups, as directed by leaders within the Support for Learning (SfL) Department
- Implement agreed strategies and programmes to support pupil development
- Provide feedback on pupil engagement, progress and outcomes
- Support consistency between classroom learning and intervention work
- Progress and Achievement of Pupils
- Monitor pupil progress, behaviour and wellbeing
- Maintain accurate records of support provided and pupil outcomes
- Report on progress towards targets and the effectiveness of strategies
- Contribute to pupil review processes by sharing observations with teachers, HLTA and SENCO
