Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Chef to lead our culinary team in delivering exceptional tapas dishes. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary experience, and a passion for food preparation and presentation. This role involves working alongside a pizza chef, supervising kitchen operations, managing food production, and ensuring the highest standards of food safety and quality are maintained. The Chef will play a key role in shaping the flavour profile of our menu while fostering a positive and efficient kitchen environment.
Duties
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, ensuring smooth workflow and high standards of food quality.
- Supervise and manage the food preparation team, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Lead food production activities, including dough making, topping preparation, and cooking processes.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared in accordance with recipes, presentation standards, and health & safety regulations.
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment to comply with food safety standards.
- Monitor inventory levels, order supplies, and manage stock to minimise waste.
- Collaborate with management on menu development and special promotions.
- Uphold excellent customer service by ensuring timely delivery of orders and addressing any issues promptly.
Experience
- Good background in food production, particularly in starters, tapas, salads and dessert making or similar culinary roles.
- Strong team management skills with the ability to motivate staff and foster a collaborative atmosphere.
- Demonstrable expertise in food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen organisation.
- Knowledge of food safety standards and best practices within a professional kitchen setting.
- Previous restaurant experience with a focus on hospitality service is highly desirable.
- Experience serving customers directly is advantageous but not essential; however, understanding customer preferences is beneficial for menu development.
