Elite Workforce Solutions are currently recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician to join a busy, professional workshop team based in St Helens.
This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled HGV Technician looking for long-term stability, excellent earning potential, and ongoing training including IRTEC, LOLER, Class 1, and Tachograph qualifications.
The Role
As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, inspecting, and repairing heavy goods vehicles to ensure they remain safe, compliant, and roadworthy.
Duties Include:
- Routine servicing and maintenance of HGVs
- Vehicle inspections and MOT preparation
- Diagnostics and fault finding
- Brake, clutch, engine, gearbox, and suspension repairs
- Electrical and hydraulic fault diagnosis
- Working to DVSA standards
- Completing workshop job cards and service records accurately
- Maintaining high health & safety standards
What We’re Looking For
- Previous experience as an HGV Technician, HGV Mechanic, or Commercial Vehicle Technician
- Level 3 qualification in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent)
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills
- IRTEC accreditation (preferred but not essential)
- Class 1 Licence (preferred but not essential)
- LOLER knowledge/certification (preferred but not essential)
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
