Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Junior Accountant to join our finance team. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to develop their accounting skills within a dynamic financial services environment. The successful candidate will support various accounting functions, contribute to financial management processes, and gain valuable experience working with leading accounting software programmes. Prior experience with tools such as Capium, Sage, Xero, or similar is advantageous.
Duties
- Assist in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting the month-end close process
- Assisting in filing Annual Accounts, VAT returns etc
- Manage accounts payable and receivable transactions, ensuring timely processing and reconciliation
- Support the preparation of financial statements and reports in accordance with organisational policies
- Aid in the reconciliation of bank statements and general ledger accounts
- Collaborate with senior team members on financial management tasks and projects
- Contribute to process improvements within the finance department
- Support mentoring initiatives by providing guidance to new team members when required
Qualifications
- Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and practices
- Experience working within financial services or related industries is desirable
- Excellent organisational skills with high attention to detail
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
- Good communication skills and a proactive approach to problem-solving
- Prior exposure to financial management tasks such as accounts payable or receivable is advantageous
- Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are preferred but not essential; ongoing professional development is encouraged
