Job Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Accountant to join our financial team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in financial management, accounting software, and tax services. The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing complex accounting tasks, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and supporting strategic decision-making processes.
Duties
- Prepare and analyse financial statements in accordance with recognised accounting standards for limited companies/LLP's/Partnership & sole trader accounts.
- Manage accounts payable and receivable processes efficiently using various accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other financial management tools.
- Oversee month-end and year-end closing procedures, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Conduct detailed reconciliations of accounts and resolve discrepancies promptly.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities across departments.
- Mentor and guide junior accountants and finance staff to enhance team performance and professional development.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant financial regulations and ensure compliance across all financial activities.
- All aspects of personal and company taxation/tax planning activities
Skills
- Proven expertise in using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, PeopleSoft, and other relevant platforms.
- Strong understanding of financial services industry practices and standards.
- Extensive experience in financial accounting, management reporting, and accounts payable functions.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Demonstrated mentoring ability to support the development of junior team members.
- Analytical mindset with attention to detail for accurate financial analysis and reporting.
- Good communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external auditors.
- Ability to adapt quickly to new systems or processes within a dynamic environment. Pay: £44,000.00-£50,000.00 per year
