Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Residential Children's Home Deputy Manager to oversee daily operations within our home. The successful candidate will support the Manager in delivering high-quality care to children and young people, ensuring a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. Duties
- Assist the Home Manager in the overall management and organisation of the residential home.
- Supervise and support staff to deliver personalised care aligned with individual needs and care plans.
- Oversee daily routines, including activities, behavioural management, and therapeutic interventions.
- Ensure all staff adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures to maintain a safe environment for children.
- Assist with staff recruitment, training, and performance management to promote a competent team.
- Monitor and evaluate the quality of care provided, making improvements where necessary.
- Support children with daily living activities, including medication administration where appropriate.
- Maintain accurate records of care plans, incidents, and other documentation in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Liaise with families, social workers, health professionals, and external agencies to coordinate holistic support for children.
- Promote a positive organisational culture that emphasises respect, dignity, and personalised care.
Skills
- Proven experience in residential children's homes.
- Strong leadership qualities with previous supervising or management experience within a care setting.
- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of care planning processes and regulatory standards relevant to residential childcare settings.
- Compassionate approach with excellent communication skills to engage children and collaborate with teams and external professionals.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure whilst maintaining professional boundaries.
- Familiarity with medication administration protocols and safeguarding procedures.
- Experience in managing or working within a home care environment is essential
