Evolution Recruit is proud to be working in partnership with a well-established and highly respected precision engineering manufacturer in Mansfield to recruit an experienced Production Manager.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated and commercially aware production professional to join a growing business with a strong reputation for quality and technical excellence. The successful candidate will play a key leadership role in driving operational performance, continuous improvement, and team development across the manufacturing operation.
The Role
As Production Manager, you will take responsibility for the day-to-day management of production activities, ensuring operational efficiency, high-quality standards, and on-time delivery performance. You will lead from the front, supporting and developing teams while implementing improvements to maximise productivity and performance.
This role would suit an experienced production leader from an engineering or technical manufacturing background who thrives in a fast-paced precision engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, manage, and develop the production team to achieve operational objectives.
- Oversee daily manufacturing operations to ensure production targets and delivery schedules are met.
- Monitor, analyse, and report on KPIs and operational performance metrics.
- Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing practices.
- Improve reporting systems, dashboards, and operational tracking processes.
- Drive efficiency, productivity, and quality improvements across the business.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, quality, and senior management teams.
- Support positive change management initiatives and operational development projects.
- Ensure health, safety, and quality standards are maintained at all times.
Candidate Requirements
- Proven experience in a Production Manager or senior manufacturing leadership position.
- Strong engineering or technical manufacturing background with hands-on industry experience.
- Good understanding of CNC Milling, EDM, and Bench / Toolmaking processes.
- Demonstrable experience implementing operational improvements within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong leadership and people management skills with a collaborative management style.
- Experience working with KPIs, reporting systems, and performance monitoring tools.
- Knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to balance quality, cost, and delivery objectives.
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Working Hours
- Monday & Wednesday: 7:30am – 4:30pm
- Tuesday & Thursday: 7:30am – 4:00pm
- Friday: 7:30am – 12:30pm
Flexibility is required to meet operational and business needs.
Salary & Benefits
- £45,000 – £55,000 per annum depending on experience
