Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, ensuring patient safety and comfort at all times
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilising instruments and ensuring all necessary equipment is ready
- Provide patients with pre- and post-treatment instructions, answering any questions they may have
- Maintain accurate patient records and update treatment notes in accordance with practice protocols
- Ensure strict adherence to infection control and health & safety regulations within the clinic
- Support administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments, managing patient files, and handling correspondence
- Reassure anxious patients, offering empathetic communication to promote a positive experience
- Reception duties when required
Skills
- Proven experience or training in patient care within a dental or healthcare setting
- GDC registered
- Excellent communication skills in English, with the ability to explain procedures clearly and compassionately
- Strong organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently in a busy environment
- Good IT literacy for maintaining electronic patient records and managing appointment systems
- Knowledge of nursing principles relevant to dental care and infection control standards
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team, demonstrating professionalism and attention to detail
