Main Purpose
To provide safe, responsive, and person-centred support to adults with learning disabilities, ensuring that each individual’s dignity, wellbeing, and safeguarding needs are met at all times.
The post holder must prioritise service user care and safety above all other duties.
This position is for the following shifts:
- Friday 12:00 - 22:00
- Saturday 07:00 - 22:00
- Sunday 07:00 - 22:00
- Monday 07:00 -14:00
Key Responsibilities
1. Service User Support
- Provide person-centred support tailored to individual needs, preferences, and goals
- Support individuals with daily living activities, including personal care where required
- Promote independence, choice, and dignity in all aspects of care
- Support individuals to access community activities, education, and social opportunities
- Assist individuals to maintain and develop relationships with family and friends
- Encourage and support individuals to develop life skills and achieve personal outcomes
2. Care Delivery
- Follow individual support plans, risk assessments, and guidance provided by senior staff
- Support individuals in a safe and respectful manner, in line with their needs and wishes
- Assist with medication administration where trained and authorised
- Observe and report any changes in an individual’s health, behaviour, or wellbeing
- Support individuals to maintain a healthy lifestyle, including attending appointments where required
3. Health, Safety & Safeguarding
- Ensure the safety and wellbeing of individuals at all times
- Follow safeguarding procedures and report any concerns immediately
- Maintain a clean, safe, and secure environment
- Adhere to health and safety policies and procedures
4. Communication & Record Keeping
- Maintain accurate, clear, and up-to-date records of care and support provided
- Complete daily notes, incident reports, and communication logs as required
- Communicate effectively with colleagues, managers, and external professionals
- Participate in handovers and team meetings
5. Daily Living & Environment
- Support with household tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and meal preparation
- Ensure the service environment is well-maintained and comfortable
- Support individuals with budgeting and managing personal finances, where appropriate
6. Professional Standards
- Work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and current legislation
- Maintain confidentiality and respect privacy at all times
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion
- Behave in a professional manner and represent the organisation positively
7. Training & Development
- Attend all mandatory training and participate in ongoing development
- Work towards relevant qualifications where required
- Seek guidance and support from senior staff when needed

Pay: £12.71 per year
