The Quest Academy is looking for a skilled and passionate Teacher of PE and Health & Social Care to join our successful Faculty.
The Quest PE team is very strong and delivers consistently high standards at both GCSE and A-Level/BTEC. Alongside PE, we are seeking a teacher who can contribute to the delivery of Health & Social Care, helping students develop a strong understanding of health, wellbeing, care provision and the wider social care sector. The Faculty is well established and an area of excellent practice – it is a fantastic place to accelerate the development of your own teaching skills and share ideas on what makes outstanding learning. We would very much welcome an application from you.
The main aim of this role is to deliver exceptional teaching and learning for the fantastic students of our great school. You will teach PE from Year 7 to Year 13 and contribute to the delivery of Health & Social Care qualifications, depending on experience and curriculum needs.
You will be required to actively engage in up-to-date teaching pedagogy and contribute to the continual improvement and refinement of teaching across both subject areas. In PE, you will also actively contribute to the extensive extra-curricular programme we have on offer.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about teaching PE and/or Health & Social Care and is able to share this enthusiasm with their students so they develop a real thirst for excellence. You will need to be a teacher who is capable of building strong relationships with students and families to help maximise this enthusiasm and thirst for learning.
The successful candidate will:
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with the ability to inspire and motivate students.
- Have the ability to teach PE across Key Stages 3, 4 and 5.
- Have experience of, or the willingness to teach, Health & Social Care at Key Stage 4 and/or Post-16 level.
- Be committed to raising achievement and ensuring excellent outcomes for all students.
- Be keen to play a full role in the wider life of the school, including leading and supporting the extra-curricular PE programme.
The job description and person specification shown in the application pack will give you a good indication of who we are looking for, including the skills and experience that would make for our ideal candidate.
