About Rolls-Royce SMR
Rolls-Royce SMR is transforming the future of low-carbon energy. Our small modular reactor programme is designed to deliver affordable, scalable nuclear power that supports global decarbonisation.
As we continue to grow our Operations capability, we are looking for an IDT Lead to play a critical role in shaping how our reactor containment and in-containment construction is delivered across our future fleet.
The Role
As IDT Lead – In-Containment Construction, you will lead an integrated, cross-functional team responsible for defining the programme to design, source, construct and approve containment and in-containment elements within the Reactor Island.
You will bring together engineering, construction, procurement, commercial and regulatory disciplines to create a standardised, optimised assembly approach—ensuring delivery is both technically robust and commercially effective.
This is a highly visible role, working across the organisation and engaging up to Executive Leadership level to build confidence in plans, align strategy, and drive successful delivery.

-
Driving visibility and alignment across all organisational levels, including senior leadership
-
Ensuring methodologies align with broader Rolls-Royce SMR construction and programme standards
-
Identifying and optimising value drivers across lifecycle and fleet deployment
What you’ll bring
-
Strong experience leading complex, matrixed programmes or integrated project teams
-
Proven ability to influence and communicate complex delivery plans to senior stakeholders, including executive level
-
Experience in construction, assembly or major infrastructure programmes
-
Strong commercial awareness, including cost, risk and value drivers
-
Understanding of regulated environments, ideally nuclear or similarly high-integrity industries
-
Experience in process mapping, value stream mapping and programme modelling
-
Degree (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Project Management or related discipline
-
Excellent stakeholder engagement, problem-solving and leadership capability
