We are seeking a skilled and experienced Chef to join our team. As a Chef, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our kitchen, including food preparation, cooking, and meal presentation. You will work closely with the kitchen staff to ensure that all dishes are prepared to the highest standards and meet customer expectations.
Duties:
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to recipes and menu specifications
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of kitchen staff
- Train new kitchen staff members on proper food preparation techniques and procedures
- Ensure that all food is prepared in a safe and sanitary manner, following food safety guidelines
- Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed
- Collaborate with management to develop new menu items and specials
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen area
- Adhere to all health and safety regulations
Qualifications:
- Previous experience working in a Care Home, restaurant, or culinary environment
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and culinary terminology
- Knowledge about IDDSI levels
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Excellent communication and leadership skills
- Knowledge of food safety practices and procedures
- Ability to work well under pressure
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time and lift heavy objects - Experience of altered diets
This position is for 24 hours per week, working alternate weekends with the opportunity to cover holidays and sickness
