Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Pub Chef to join our vibrant hospitality team. The ideal candidate will possess strong culinary expertise, leadership qualities, and experience in food preparation within a busy pub environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to oversee kitchen operations, manage a team, and deliver high-quality food and service to our patrons. The successful applicant will be responsible for maintaining food safety standards, supervising kitchen staff, and ensuring the smooth running of daily food production.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the kitchen team to ensure efficient food preparation and service
- Prepare, cook, and present a variety of dishes in accordance with pub standards and menus
- Oversee food production processes, ensuring consistency and quality across all offerings
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and maintain stock control
- Enforce strict adherence to food safety regulations and hygiene standards
- Assist with menu planning and development based on customer preferences and seasonal ingredients
- Ensure all kitchen equipment is maintained and operated safely
- Support serving staff during busy periods to ensure excellent customer service
- Train new staff members in food preparation techniques and safety procedures
Requirements
- Proven experience in a culinary role within a pub, restaurant or hospitality setting
- Supervising experience with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong skills in food preparation, cooking, and kitchen organisation
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene regulations
- Leadership qualities with excellent communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in food production, menu development, and stock management is desirable
- Hospitality experience including serving customers is advantageous
- A passion for delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer service
