This role is required to be responsible (not accountable) for the writing of low to medium risk, fire risk assessments across the trusts estate which covers the county of Cornwall. It is essential in ensuring management controls are communicated through fire safety training, working closely with the Trusts fire safety trainer.
This role will be responsible for implementing adequate local fire safety controls via the risk assessment process.
Working with the Estates and Facilities Quality Manager, the role will devise a prioritisation list of minor new work actions or capital investment requests, enabling the Trust to prioritise works on a “risk to fire safety” basis.
This role will have a professional input to fire safety training contracts and external fire risk assessment processes, ensuring the Trust is meeting its legal obligations whilst undertaking a value for money exercise.

Required to receive and issue sensitive and confidential information and ensure this status remains. This includes authorising engineer reports, fire safety risk reports and action plans and fire safety incident reports.
Required to liaise with our emergency planning colleagues, in the oversight and support of fire evacuation drills.
Fire safety trainer in the identification of local fire risks through local fire risk assessments and audits.
Advise and support the undertaking of any localised specific controls required as a fall out of the fire risk assessment.
Health and safety advisors, to ensure fire elements are captured within their local audits.
Head of health and safety services in the implementation of trust wide fire safety arrangements.
To undertake low to medium risk, fire risk assessments and assist in the undertaking fire safety audit, when necessary.
