Maintenance Electrician - West Midlands - £40,000 - £50,000 OTE
Involve recruitment midlands are seeking an experienced maintenance electrician on behalf of a well established contractor. The contractor specialise in delivering maintenance works and internal refurbishment projects to a high standard, on time and within budget. This role suits someone proactive, organised, and confident working in a fast‑paced environment with a strong commitment to Health & Safety.
This opportunity is working around the West Midlands, successful candidates must have experience working on commercial and ministry of justice projects.
Roles And Responsibilities
- Carrying out servicing, fault finding and repairs
- Completing new electrical installations
- Participating in an on‑call rota with colleagues
- Working safely and efficiently at all times
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting the site team with work package control
- Managing resources, stock, and plant (owned and hired)
- Identifying and resolving site issues quickly and effectively
- Ensuring the site remains clean, tidy, and compliant
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives with the client
- Communicating clearly with clients, colleagues, and site management—this is essential due to the high‑security nature of the site
- Ensuring full compliance with Health & Safety procedures, including dynamic risk assessments
Key Skills & Experience
- Proven experience delivering similar refurbishment or maintenance works
- Strong customer service focus
- Competent in servicing, fault finding, repairs, and small works on fire alarms, emergency lighting, and disabled alarm/refuge systems
- Ability to record and report information accurately
- Flexible, reliable, and committed to quality
- Confident communicator with good client‑facing skills
- Evidence of strong productivity and successful project outputs
Essential Requirements
- Previous electrical engineering experience
- Experience in working on commercial and ministry of justice projects
- Full UK driving licence
- CSCS card
- Enhanced DBS check
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and safe working practices
